Your First Step: New Talent

When you begin your program, you’ll enter New Talent.

This is where your foundation is built. For Cosmetology students, New Talent is 6 weeks, and for Esthetics students, New Talent is 4 weeks.

During this time, you’ll move back and forth between theory learning and hands-on practice as you build confidence and technical skill before working on the public.

How Skills Progress

We introduce new skills in a structured, supportive way:

Learn the theory – Understand the “why” behind the service.
Practice on a mannequin – Build muscle memory and technical accuracy.
Practice on a classmate – Develop communication and real-time adjustments.
Schedule a model (friend or family member) – For select services, you’ll invite someone you know to gain supervised experience.
Transition to working on public guests – Once you demonstrate readiness.

This step by step progression ensures you feel prepared when your books open to the public.

Mondays: Theory & Classroom Learning

Mondays are dedicated to building your knowledge base.

Your theory day may include lectures, interactive learning activities, hands-on classroom exercises, written and practical assessments, tests, and/or homework/assignment distribution.
Theory is essential to your success — it prepares you for state board exams and ensures you understand the science behind every service you perform.

Service Days: Real World Experience

Depending on your schedule, your service days will run: Tuesday–Thursday & Saturday or Tuesday–Friday.
These are your clinic floor days, where learning becomes real. Your books will be open for services, which may include family and friends, scheduled models, or members of the general public.
You’ll work under instructor supervision while building confidence, speed, consultation skills, and professionalism.

What Happens Between Guests?

Beauty school isn’t about waiting around. When you’re not actively with a guest, you’ll complete weekly written assignments, practice required hands-on skills on mannequins or classmates, study for upcoming tests, or refine techniques that need improvement.
A certain degree of self-motivation and time management is expected. The students who grow the fastest are the ones who take initiative during these in-between moments.

The Real Salon & Spa Environment

Our goal is to give you as much real-world, hands-on experience as possible. You’ll learn to manage appointments, perform consultations, recommend services and products, handle timing and service flow, maintain professionalism with guests, and work as part of a team.
By the time you graduate, you won’t just know how to perform services, you’ll understand how a working salon or spa truly operates.
